A concise ‘set’ of instructions to manufacture a component
without need to refer to an external source for further information.
Engineering drawing is a starting point of all
engineering branches such as Mechanical, Production, Electrical, and
Electronics……., It is spoken, read, and written in its own way. Engineering drawing
has its own grammar in the theory of projections, its idioms in conventional
practices, its punctuations in the types of lines, its abbreviations, symbols
and its descriptions in the constructions.
Drawing instruments.
Drawing board, T-square, Set Square, Scales, Pencil and
sand paper block, Drawing pins or cello-tape, Duster or handkerchief, eraser
etc.
The drawing shows the dimensions for the component in three
planes. Dimensions of the manufactured component need to be verified because
some variation of size in each of the three planes (length, width, and thickness)
will be unavoidable.
Orthographic projection
Orthographic Projection is a way of drawing a 3D object from different directions. Usually a front, side and plan view is drawn so that a person looking at the drawing can see all the important sides.
There are two ways of drawing in orthographic - First Angle
and Third Angle.
First and third Angle projection
First angle projection is a method of creating a 2D
drawing of a 3D object. It is mainly used in Europe and Asia.
In Australia third angle projection is the
preferred method for orthographic projection drawing as recommended by the
Australian Standard.

Assembly Drawings
The assembly /sub-assembly drawings are drawings
of discrete sub-systems showing in some detail how the component items fit
together. Typical assembly drawings include gearbox drawings,
roller drawings, guard system drawings.
The assembly drawing will generally include at least three orthographic views with sections as needed to clearly show all of the details and their relative positions. Overall and detail dimensions will be shown. The drawing will include a parts list identifying all of the component details with quantities and materials and supply details. The assembly drawing will include a list of reference drawings and notes identifying the relevant codes and specifications and testing requirements.

CAD
Acronym for
computer-aided drafting. A CAD system is a combination of hardware and software that enables engineers and architects to
design everything from furniture to airplanes. CAD systems allow an engineer to
view a component from any angle with the push of a button and to zoom in or out for close-ups and long-distance views...
Autodesk Inventor Software
It is a 3D mechanical
engineering, design, visualization, and simulation software
It creates digital
prototyping as opposed to physical prototyping (which is costly and time
consuming) by integrating 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D data into a single digital
model.
It can quickly and easily create stunning
renderings, animations, and presentations that improve communication.
It can easily generate and share
production-ready drawings for manufacturing teams
The automatic updating feature allows easy
changes in models It has a simulation environment that allows motion
simulation, static and modal finite element.
